Sam Whitehurst, CEO of Summit Credit Union called and asked for help. Summit is a small institution with big aspirations and Sam had a new location in his sights. Sam had acquired a condo office space in a new building. The location was right. The branch needed to get done and it needed to dovetail in with the building common areas. That meant a building owner and two contractors on top of the consultant team. Things were starting to get complicated and Summit's budget was pretty straightforward; no room for mistakes. Keep in mind, Sam already had a day job.
Sam's challenge to Momentum was budget focused. Could we be flexible? Could we deliver a retail environment on a very tight budget? The old way of branching wasn't going to be good enough for Summit going forward, Sam wanted experts on this. Would we play the role of coach, making sure that gaps were filled and Summit had an advocate in negotiations and through the process?
Absolutely.
Momentum turned to Rick Larson of Larson and Associates. Rick's group contracted direct with Summit and with over 15 years of financial facilities experience, helped Summit develop a branch design that met the team's business and retail goals. Momentum ran the numbers and coached Summit on security, equipment, and branch staff roles.
Momentum worked with Sam to bid the project and recommend a construction firm to complete the work. Weber Marketing utilized the value based "Weber Express" product line to improve branch communications at a budget price. As Summit's advocate, Momentum reviewed progress at milestone points during construction and even helped Summit navigate a difficult situation of expectations with the building owner.
The branch opened on time and very close to Sam's original budget. Momentum has never helped a credit union do so much on such a tight budget.
Ever dollar was spent as if it was our own. Nothing new there.
