The Challenge
An adaptable prototype for a consultative retail business focus that could be applied to existing outdated downtown branch network as well as to new ground-up locations
Project Background
Founded in 1943, Alta Vista Credit Union originally served military personnel of the Norton Air Force Base and their immediate families in Southern California. Alta Vista Credit Union obtained a community charter in the 1990s after the base closure and extended their membership to include San Bernardino County. Alta Vista was implementing a shift in branch roles and product focus and needed help to translate this into an engaging space. Early adoption of emerging transaction technology was envisioned to migrate members and create an open partnering environment, a digital platform for in-branch communications was also planned.
Fully adaptable consultative retail design
Momentum refined and integrated an unrealized teller pod concept with a merchandising program for the new main branch in Rialto. Without any downtime to the branch, Momentum delivered a fully renovated 4,200 square foot building two weeks ahead of schedule and 10% under budget. Momentum also completed two additional branch renovations, in Redlands and San Bernardino, California. A new 3,400 square foot main branch was delivered Design Build in a new premier shopping center.
The result was a market-wide brand wrap that updated the existing branch network to meet the retail business model shift and added a new landmark location to continue growth.
Momentum has a superior delivery method, combining convenience, professionalism and originality.”

Momentum Moment
Realizing the most significant impact of a renovation is often on staff, Momentum included regular overnight attention to ensure that workstations and staff space were cleaned and ready for business each day.
