Transform a traditional branch network into a cohesive, brand-oriented retail experience
Project Background
Through its eight-branch retail network, MAPS Credit Union serves more than 45,000 members with easy, straightforward financial products and services. MAPS partnered with Momentum to bring these important aspects of its brand to the retail environments. The goal was to create a more up-to-date, consistent, and relevant branch experience for members through three major branch renovations and one new branch tenant improvement.

Moving Forward
The design theme, “Destination Forward,” was inspired by the MAPS’ name and brand promise of helping its members navigate a lifelong financial journey. The branch experience is designed to be relevant throughout each member’s financial life, from a first savings account through retirement planning.
The new layout features open transaction pods, designed for more flexible member interactions. A less formal atmosphere encourages more open communication between members and staff, and easy-to-use, self-service technology tools enhance the overall member experience.
Momentum Moment
During their renovation process, Maps needed to maintain full operating function and hours to serve their members. The Momentum team created a detailed plan to arrange the full renovation around the branch function, leveraging lean construction principles to execute it successfully. This model has since been adopted on three occupied renovations for Maps Credit Union.
