Construction Project Engineer

Momentum is seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer to join our team. As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the management of design-build vertical construction projects ranging up to $40M in size. You will be a key player on the team, from the procurement phase until the client moves into their new building. Working closely with construction project managers, you will be delegated areas of responsibility where you will contribute to the team’s successful project execution and build your own expertise through engagement with a broad range of project activities and phases. As a Momentum Construction Project Engineer, you’ll collaborate with team partners and industry professionals, and integrate your knowledge of commercial construction technologies. Responsibilities

Some key Construction Project Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Procurement including bid scoping, solicitation and subcontract negotiation.
  • Estimating and schedule development.
  • Subcontractor coordination and compliance management.
  • Document control including management of submittals, RFIs, and project drawings.
  • LEED documentation.
  • Monthly project billing support.
  • Project reporting.
  • Project close-out administration.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience supporting construction project management of commercial building projects.
  • 4-year degree in construction management, engineering or architecture, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in procurement, sub-contracts, document control, project closeout, and experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skills in project team communication, document exchange, schedule development and management, and sequencing.
  • Experience with cloud-based project management tools that support distributed teamwork. We use ProCore, BlueBeam, Box and SmartSheet.
  • Experience with LEED projects is a plus.
  • Position is based in Seattle, WA and requires in-person attendance. Position will require occasional regional and/or national overnight travel.
  • Candidate must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and the ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Candidate must have the ability to issue written and verbal communication in English and the ability to speak persuasively and negotiate outcomes with diverse groups.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

You must be authorized to work permanently in the United States.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
