Hapo Community Credit Union

Belmont Branch | Design Build

the goals

Balance forward-leaning design with hometown comfort

Project Background

HAPO Community Credit Union had a strong design foundation — but
needed something new.

For their Belmont Brach in West Richland branch, the credit union wanted to capture the look and feel of their Vancouver location at a significantly reduced price point, all within an efficient 4,000 – 5,000 square foot footprint on a 1.2-acre site.

Local Legacy Meets Modern Aesthetic

The design challenge was distinctly local. In the Tri-Cities market, in branch transactions were forecasted to remain high, and banking is
often a family event. The branch needed to reflect HAPO’s current
brand and forward-leaning aesthetic while still feeling comfortable and familiar to its legacy membership. Momentum worked with the credit union to develop a prototype that threads that needle — modern but approachable, efficient but warm.

Timeless Comfort Ready to Support Evolving Technology

The exterior pairs clean contemporary lines with natural stone and
warm-toned panel cladding, grounding the building in its surroundings.

Inside, a central lounge anchored by a fireplace and comfortable
seating creates a living-room atmosphere where members can settle
in. Natural wood ceilings, textured accent walls, and abundant natural
light soften the space, while digital displays and open consultation
areas support the credit union’s evolving service model.
The result is a branch prototype that introduces HAPO’s brand to a
growing community — efficient in its footprint, conceptualized with experience in mind, and designed for the way its members actually bank.
