Tapco Credit Union

Frederickson Branch | Design Build

the goals

Tapco needed a prototype branch design that would strengthen community connections, balance automation with authentic relationships, and create a scalable model for future growth. Most importantly, they wanted to provide the community spaces it was missing.

Project Background

TAPCO Credit Union recognized a rapidly growing community hungry for connection, in need of spaces to gather in Frederickson. Their small, leased branch was thriving, but the community was telling them something bigger was needed.

“Talking to our community here in Frederickson, we heard loud and clear that this was a growing community that didn't have a lot of spaces for the community to come together," said Justin Martin, TAPCO's President and CEO. "We determined we need to make a bigger commitment to the community."

Celebrating Northwest Roots

TAPCO didn't just want another branch - they envisioned a community hub that would serve as both member-centered financial institution and neighborhood heartbeat. When they asked residents what local business they wanted most, a coffee shop topped every list.

Red Leaf Organic Coffee

Red Leaf Organic Coffee’s in-branch café was designed by Momentum’s team as part of the overall branch design, making it feel like a natural part of the branch.

Member conversations often take place over a relaxed cup of coffee, and there is a natural flow between ordering coffee, transactions, and sitting down to relax.

This partnership deepens the community connections for both brands, and further establishes Fibre as a partner in their members’ wellbeing.

Innovation

Breaking down banking barriers with relationship-focused design, integrated local partnerships, and flexible community spaces.

Impact

Banking transformed into an inviting experience that feels more like a destination than an errand-stop. A prototype that scales across TAPCO's network, driving membership growth and helping the community thrive.
