Unitus

Woodburn Branch & Financial Resource Center | Construction Management

the goals

Capture the spirit of a community and give it a healthy, sustainable purpose-driven building to call home

Project Background

Unitus Community Credit Union wanted more than a new branch in Woodburn, Oregon. They envisioned a community-centered Financial Resource Center that reflected the vibrancy, culture, and spirit of the people it would serve.

As a Juntos Avanzamos credit union, a national designation recognizing credit unions committed to serving Hispanic and immigrant communities with bilingual, culturally inclusive financial services, Unitus needed a facility that could bring branch services, lending support, small business resources, financial education, and community programming together under one roof.

A Building as Vibrant as its Community

The three-story Financial Resource Center delivers on that vision. A colorful exterior mural by Portland artist Damon Smyth sets the tone, weaving the Unitus logo into a vivid celebration of the people and natural elements that define Woodburn.

The building's mix of warm wood cladding, blonde brick, and metal panel siding with expansive glass creates a contemporary presence that carries through to the interior.

A place to Learn, Bank, and Belong

Inside, bold brand colors, comfortable lounge seating, and warm natural materials create a lobby that feels welcoming and alive.

A dedicated community room with presentation technology supports financial education and local programming while a covered outdoor terrace and glass walled consultation space give members and staff room to connect beyond the transaction.

With this center, Unitus didn't just open a branch - they gave Woodburn a gathering place that reflects who they are and celebrates the people they serve.

LEED Certified

The Woodburn Financial Resource Center became Unitus Community Credit Union’s second LEED Certified building, reinforcing the credit union’s long-term commitment to sustainable branch design, wellness, and environmental responsibility.

Sustainability is not simply about energy efficiency or building performance, it is about making long-term investments that strengthen communities, support employee well-being, and create lasting value for members. Unitus' decision to pursue LEED certification for their last two facilities projects with Momentum, clearly demonstrates how environmental responsibility can be directly aligned with an organization's mission and values.

By incorporating sustainable design principles into the Woodburn facility, Unitus has created a space that supports healthier indoor environments, reduces resource consumption, and contributes to the long-term vitality of the community it serves. Unitus earned points toward the certification through innovation, site choice, energy and atmosphere considerations, materials and resources, indoor air quality and more.

The Woodburn Financial Resource Center stands as an example of how community based financial institutions can balance operational excellence with social and environmental responsibility.
